Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the OvenPreheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment (baking) paper.
- Wash and Dry the KaleThoroughly rinse the kale under cold water. Use a salad spinner or clean towel to dry the leaves completely, moisture will make the chips soggy!
- Remove Stems and TearStrip the kale leaves from the tough stems. Tear into bite-sized pieces (about 2-inch chunks).
- Massage with Olive OilPlace the kale in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and gently massage the leaves for 1-2 minutes until coated and slightly softened.
- SeasonSprinkle with sea salt and any optional seasonings. Toss again to distribute evenly.Mix it up with flavoured salts (Truffle salt is my favourite). Check the notes for some flavour combos.
- Bake Until CrispBake for 20 minutes, turning the tray halfway through. Keep an eye on them in the last few minutes to prevent burning.
- Cool and EnjoyLet the kale chips cool slightly on the tray. They will continue to crisp as they cool. Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Storage Tip: Kale chips are best fresh, but you can store them in an airtight container with a paper towel to help absorb moisture.
- Spice It Up: Try different seasonings like lemon zest, cumin, or ranch seasoning for variety.
- No Salad Spinner? Pat kale dry thoroughly with a kitchen towel—dry leaves are key to crispy chips.
